Looking to cut overall system costs and complexity using a popular subset of BeagleBoard functionality? Or are you a BeagleBoard developer looking to use additional peripherals popular in industrial and automotive environments? Are you an industrial designer looking to innovate on Sitara ARM MPUs? Look here for design materials for the CraneBoard.

These design materials are *NOT SUPPORTED* and DO NOT constitute a reference design. Custom hardware support for the CraneBoard may be available from Mistral for a reasonable fee. AM3517 MPU support is available from TI via the TI e2e forums.

Only software “community” support is allowed via resources at BeagleBoard.org/discuss.

The CraneBoard is a low-cost, open-source hardware development platform based on the AM3517 Sitara™ ARM® Cortex™-A8 microprocessor. The CraneBoard provides robust processor performance while delivering integrated peripherals not found on existing low-cost development boards.

The CraneBoard is shipped with OpenSource Linux software programmed on the NAND Flash. Software includes: x-loader, u-boot, ITBOK, Linux Kernel and JFFS2 root file system. For users who would like to download source files or updates, please reference the following resources:

To verify the functionality of your CraneBoard, please utilize the ITBOK diagnostics. If you believe the board is defective, please utilize Mistral's RMA page to request authorization prior to returning your hardware. You will likely be requested to provide information about your execution of the hardware validation procedure.

If needed, custom design support for the CraneBoard may also be available from Mistral for a reasonable fee. AM3517 MPU support is available from TI via the TI e2e forums.

In addition, CraneBoard developers can share ideas, projects and forum discussions to further increase the engineer to engineer collaboration by utilizing the BeagleBoard.org community, featuring Sitara ARM microprocessors.

As with other development systems bred from the BeagleBoard.org project, you are likely to find many opinions and answers regarding the CraneBoard on the BeagleBoard.org on-line chat and mailing list.

When utilizing these support options, please insure to indicate you are using CraneBoard.
