Missing package?

    I'm just looking for a bit of clarification regarding a camera board I ordered from your shop back on April 27th (invoice ID 0000001532). I've tried to get through to someone at your company by email but haven't received any replies, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. Basically you sent me a note on May 2nd with a tracking number ( LJ654007136US). The tracking number, when click on the link to stamps.com or the usps website tells me that it's received 'electronic info' but not that they've actually picked the package up from you. I've also checked the parcelforce website which I think is the UK courier who USPS uses but its turning up a blank there to. It's been 9 days now since it was 'shipped' and two weeks since I placed the order. Could anyone give me some idea as to where it might be?

    I will check with our shipping department why they didn't get back to you, but from my experience,, it is very common, here is what our experience with USPS shipping carrier during the last year:

    Normally USPS won't scan the package if it is not Express mail, as you know, it is like government with very LOW efficiency and not good services either, the package normally take 2-6 weeks or even longer unless you pick up Global Express method. You may have to wait a little longer to get this package without any online status updates from USPS.com.

    Here I would like to share my experience to our community members: if you need package urgently, please DO NOT choose Flast rate, Priority mail espcially for international shipment, or it will take much longer than what you expect.

    So John, sorry about this, but it is out of our control.

  • Yes I confirm last time I used USPS it took about 8 weeks, now i spend the extra money to use UPS or Fedex that's defintly worth it

  • 8 Weeks? Damn. Cheers anyway guys, hope it comes before I move out of this house. Maybe you guys sould put a warning next to the USPS option or just pull it altogether, as it's a joke!

    This still hasn't arrived, still no update on the shipping notice. Can I ask you to initiate a postal search with USPS (package number in first post). Quite frankly I'm a little upset by this. Nowhere was I warned that shipping would take this long, (and it cost $30 anyway). I'll be going on holiday in a week and a half, so I won't be able to pick up the package (if indeed it has even been sent, which I doubt).

    I'll be opening a paypal dispute next week to apply for either my money back, or for you to send me the goods which I have paid you rather a lot of money for.

    As I said in an other email I ordered 1 time with regular post and it took weeks to France. Last time I used FEDEX and it took 2 days

    You get what you pay for, I paid 59$ via Fedex so twice the price of regular shipping, twice is teh diference between waiting 2 days or 8 weeks ;)  

     

  • Okay well I wasn't informed of the huge delays in any particular shipping method upon purchase. And if I don't file a dispute within the next week or two then the 40-day period that they allow will come to an end, leaving me completely unprotected. If the package arrives when I'm on holiday I won't be able to pick it up so I'm screwed over anyway.

    I really haven't got enough money to afford wasting a hundred dollars like this. The time frame of what I wanted to look at the board for has all but expired, and I feel that all anyone here is doing is fobbing me off with 'yeah could take xxx weeks to get to yours'. I really don't think that that is acceptable given the money I have paid you and I don't think it's would be especially difficult for you guys to just initiate a search so I know who to inform about me whereabouts when the package arrives.

    Please no more messages telling me how I should have used Fedex/PS. I used a shipping method that YOU GUYS OFFERED, and it cost about the same as avnet charged for FEDEX shipping. As far as I'm concerned I've paid you and you have failed to deliver. The ball's in your court here guys.

  • Hi John I ahve nothing to do with designsomething just wanted to share my experience anybody that is bying from the US knows that they must not use standart shipping. It is teh same as using "la poste" in France they are always on strike :)

  • I've rang through the UK services/parcelforce/royal mail/customs, by all accounts the parcel hasn't even arrived in the UK. At this stage I think it would be best if you just gave me a refund so I can repurchase the product from AVnet, who were able to successfully deliver my Leopardboard within 5 days of order (the same length of time it took you guys to post my item).

    In fact, we called USPS, they won't give us any tracking information, not like UPS, FedEx or DHL, from now on, we disabled USPS international shipping since it has long time delivery. So far, all other orders came to customers already finally with USPS shipment.  It should be there, just a matter of time, I think.

    Anyway, we can refund you this, please let me know the invoice number. You can place new order by other shipping carrier if you would like to.

    Thanks very much for ringing through USPS for me, and thanks for disabling USPS, the service is really atrocious. I assume it will come eventually, but I'm going off on holiday for two weeks in 10 days and will be moving out of my house a week or two after that so my main worry is that I wont be there to receive it even if it does get through.

    Instead of a refund, may I propose that if I cover the costs of shipping, that you could send another board to me? Really the only thing I want out of this whole debacle is a camera to go with the board that I've been working on! If this is okay I'll need to change the shipping address, so could you send me an email? It's johnmwilson_at_gmail.com. For reference my invoice number is 0000001532 and it was for LI-VM34LP  | WVGA MT9V034 Camera Board for Leopardboard.

    Congrats on your receiving the board finally, as I know from USPS shipping, never heard about the missing package, but LONG delay. we disabled the USPS international shipping method, sorry for the delay.
