I have an other question: How have we to use the switch? I put in it at 000 (nand boot) but I use the serial boot. When have I to put in at 011?

    Thanks

    what I have to do?

  • I'm fed up to have so many mistakes!!

  • It is time you give back to the community.  Instead of complaining what you don't like, fix it.

Pascal is creating easy to follow  step-by-step instructions for people who are not familiar with the technologies commonly used for embedded Linux development.  Please see if Pascal is interested in help with his contribution back to the community.

    Todd

  • Any idea for my problem?

  • Yes.

Look for the word "error" in the output that isn't working right.  In your case

Root-NFS: Server returned error -13 while mounting /home/stephane/DM365SDK844703/fs/fs

Search the internet for some of that text, like Root-NFS: Server returned error -13 while mounting

Is the IP address of your NFS server 192.168.1.72?

Have you verified your NFS server is configured properly?

    www.ridgerun.com/.../Setting_Up_A_NFS_Service

    processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Host_Configuration_-_Ubuntu

Also, run wireshark on your nfs server machine - that lets you see the network packets being exchanged which is helpful in figure out which side is misconfigured.

    Todd

  • I have verified that my NFS server is configured properly and the address IP of my PC is: 192.168.1.72

The LeopardBoard is connected to a PoE Switch

I don't know how to use wireshark, I have tried but I could see in the console: dumpcap: There are no interfaces on which a capture can be done

  • I succeed in making a capture with wireshark. I have done it when I have run "boot" (in the u-boot prompt)

    Here is the result:

    thank you in advance

    Aurélie

  • Aurélie,

You say you verified your NFS server configuration, but wireshark is showing a permission denied error (ERR_ACCESS, which I think is permission denied, I can't see the exact status byte in the packet cracker window).

If you have a second PC that can do an NFS mount of your NFS server's $DEVDIR/fs/fs directory, that would show for sure you have NFS server configured properly.

    Todd

  • Oh stupid mistake: I wrote  #/home/ * (rw,insecure,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)

    whereas /home/*(rw,insecure,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)     (I kept the #)

    So sorry

  • Your kernel command line nfsroot

    Kernel command line: davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_output=COMPONENT davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_mode=720P-60 davinci_display.cont2_bufsize=6291456 vpfe_capture.cont_bufoffset=6291456 vpfe_capture.cont_bufsize=6291456 console=ttyS0,115200n8 video=davincifb:vid0=off:vid1=off:osd1=off dm365_imp.oper_mode=0 davinci_capture.device_type=4 vpfe_capture.interface=1 mem=54MKernel command line: davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_output=COMPONENT davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_mode=720P-60 davinci_display.cont2_bufsize=6291456 vpfe_capture.cont_bufoffset=6291456 vpfe_capture.cont_bufsize=6291456 console=ttyS0,115200n8 video=davincifb:vid0=off:vid1=off:osd1=off dm365_imp.oper_mode=0 davinci_capture.device_type=4 vpfe_capture.interface=1 mem=54M root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=:/root/work/leo365/fs/fs rw ip=dhcp mtdparts=nand_davinci.0:3968k(UBOOT),128k(UBOOT_ENV),4352k(KERNEL),204800k(FS) root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=:/root/work/leo365/fs/fs rw ip=dhcp mtdparts=nand_davinci.0:3968k(UBOOT),128k(UBOOT_ENV),4352k(KERNEL),204800k(FS)

    You have

    nfsroot=:/root/work/leo365/fs/fs

Working boot output can be found at

  • hi sir,

I am facing an issue when booting the leopard board. The issue is, i have selected serial port for both communication method and binary uploading, but still it requires nfs server configured!

    2. i am assigning static ip address while configuring the sdk but still it is sending dhcp request while booting the target hardware!

will u please clarify these issue?

  • You must post output showing the problem if you want detailed help.

    Run

    make config

in the file system menu, make sure you don't have root NFS selected.
