The SDK is of size 1.3mb and is unable to download files from the net but returns status "Installation complete" . I am behind a proxy firewall and i have set my system proxy , but still it is unable to download files . Any suggestions why this is happening.

Sounds like a problem with your proxy, could you use:
make VERBOSE=1
and/or
make install VERBOSE=1
The verbose option will display more information, that information may be useful
