I purchased two of the camera extensions. The first time i tried them they both worked as expected.
After a month, i just tried them and both don’t seem to be working. I have tried with three different working cameras with no success.
Can anybody help me with what might have gone wrong with the cables?
- Thanks
if you have a multi-meter (you should have one! even a cheap one :p) put it into ohm meter mode (if possible in "beeping" mode for convenience) and check that every pin of the cable properly conduct current (put one pin of the meter to each side of the cable, repeat for each pin)
If any of them do not conduct the current then you know what's wrong.
Otherwise, it might be a shielding and interference issue due to the environment (longer cable pickup more interferences and I think they're not shielded right? not sure if you can add a ferrite easily on those either..)
We use the LI-CAMFLEX lead successfully (works okay for MT9P031 5MP even at maximum 96MHz clock). But they are really fragile. When removing it's easy to damage the pins at the corners of the connector, they can pull right through the ribbon. I think it would be a hard job to repair one.
